Christmas Discos

This year's Christmas discos were a huge success. Thank you to everyone who came along.

Choir Performances

The Stenhouse School Choir have been busy this festive period performing at Chistmas events.

P7 Graduate as Junior Gaelic Tour Guides

On Wednesday 14th December, Primary 7 completed their training and are now fully qualified Junior Gaelic Tour Guides at Edinburgh Castle.

SLC Health Week

The Speech and Language Class 8-12 have been learning how to lead a healthy lifestyle. They enjoyed a week full of healthy activities.

Diversity Celebrations

We held a Celebration of Diversity to bring together all the work we do at Stenhouse towards becoming Global Citizens.

BBC @ Tynecastle

The BBC recently visited Tynecastle High School as part of their Study Skills programme.

School Grounds Development

Work has already begun on making improvements to the school playground, making it a better environment for children to play and learn.

Gaelic Trips to the Castle

Primaries 5, 6 and 7 who learn Gaelic have been enjoying trips to Edinburgh Castle, organised by Mrs Forrest.

Africa Days

During this years Africa Days, the whole school learned about different aspects of African culture. The Primary 1s created African animal bar charts, P6/7 learned about the rights of a child, P5 have been making a book about Scotland to send to Malawi and P7 learned how to speak Swahili.

The whole school got to hear African stories from Kenya and P5 to P7 experienced gumboot dancing from South Africa. Click here to see the photos.

Fiona Hyslop Visits Stenhouse

Scottish External Affairs Minister Fiona Hyslop visited Stenhouse recently to speak to children and find out more about our school link with Embangweni. The children made her feel very welcome and gave her an excellent insight in what the school link means to them.

Stenhouse Primary School Wins Fairtrade Award!

Well done to our Fairtrade Group after being made joint winners at an Edinburgh Schools Fairtrade Presentation last week.
Mrs. Buchan and her Fairtrade Group set up stall at Towerbank Primary School during Fairtrade Fortnight and presented an award winning show to a selection of Edinburgh schools.
Our children were delighted as the Lord Provost announced first prizes to Stenhouse and Towerbank Primary Schools.
